Established in 1992, West Coast Bitumen is family-owned, with our crew based here on the Peninsula.
Our services cover single and multi-coat new seal construction, reseals, and asphalt manufacture and installation. Local government accounts for the majority of our work, alongside rail, mining and commercial clients. Our projects range from asphalt driveways and car parks through to full township reseals and mining haul Roads, across the Eyre Peninsula and interstate as far as the Northern Territory.
Conditions on the Eyre Peninsula place particular demands on road surfaces. Because we are based here and work these roads year-round, we understand how those conditions behave in practice. That understanding informs the treatments we recommend, the binder we specify and the point in the season we program your work.

We work with you, not for you
While most of our work is undertaken directly for local government, the balance is delivered as subcontract work to head contractors.
When our crew is on site, we carry your reputation as well as our own. We work to understand the project requirements and the outcomes you are accountable for, and deliver agianst them to achieve the best possible results for the end client, and the local community.
We hold ISO 45001 accreditation for occupational health and safety, ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 14001 for environmental management. We are prequalified with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport for bituminous works at levels S1 and S2, hold NHVR Mass Management accreditation, and are members of the Australian Flexible Pavement Association.
Most of our work is repeat business from clients we have delivered for before – this is the measure we hold ourselves to.
